Project Brief

38 Espresso – Champions of the perfect Espresso.

Creating the Perfect Espresso is a blend of science, engineering and passion. We measure the weight of the espresso – not the volume – this is how we are different. We believe that 38 grams of extracted coffee in an espresso combined with our brand standard dose weight and runtime guidelines will produce the perfect Espresso.

John J  Doyle was approached to design a flue system to suit 2 new Giesen coffee roasters for local coffee supplier 38 Espresso. We had to ensure that the flue systems met the specification set out by the manufacturer of the roaster as in full production it would reach high temperatures.

  • Dinak – 80 Twin wall DW
Result
We were asked to design, supply and install  2 No. Flue systems to suit the 2off  new Giesen coffee roasters.

The larger Giesen W30A coffee roaster required two flues – one for the roasting and one for the cooling. With close consideration to the specification, it was decided that due to the high temperature of the roasting exhaust we would opt for a 200mm twin wall 316L stainless steel flue system. The cooling bin has low temperatures, therefore we opted for a 200mm 316L stainless steel single wall flue system.

The smaller Giesen WPG1 only required one flue for the roasting, which can reach temperatures of 80°C. Due to these temperatures and its low exhaust level, we opted to go with 80mm twin wall 316L stainless steel flue to ensure the touch temperature was kept to a minimum.

The overall flue had to be installed in coordination with the existing coffee roasting schedule.
