Result

John J Doyle Ltd was asked to design, supply and install a new flue system to suit the 6 gas-fired condensing boilers.

Flue sizing calculations were completed in-house to determine if a new stainless-steel liner could be installed down the existing chimney stack to comply with Gas Safe regulations. The flue sizing calculations were 300mm for the flue header and 350mm for the remaining flue, which was too large for the existing stack.

Following these results, John J Doyle Ltd decided that the flue must be rerouted externally to a high level.

A 300mm plastic flue header was installed throughout the plant room, converting to 350mm Dinak Stainless Steel DWJ before rising to a high level within the boiler house. Then the flue exits the boiler house, rising vertically and clipped to the existing chimney structure, terminating with a stainless steel meshed termination.

The overall installation was completed within 4 days in order to minimise the disruption to the school.

The project was completed in full in February 2021. All chimney and flue products were supplied and installed CE Marked and compliant with European and regional standards.
