Project Brief
John J Doyle Ltd completed a chimney installation for the gas boilers at St Pius X College in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland. St Pius X Voluntary Intermediate School opened in 1965.
John J Doyle Ltd was contracted by LM Services to design and a new flue system for the installation of three new gas-fired boilers, 2 rated at 900kW and 1 rated at 600kW.

Result
Following an annual inspection survey of the flue system at St Pius X College, John J Doyle Ltd discovered the flue systems were in very poor condition and needed to be replaced.
Whilst onsite it was discovered that the boilers were also being replaced, therefore making it the ideal time to complete the new flue installations to support the new gas-fired boilers.
Each flue connects to a new high-efficiency gas-fired boiler and travels outside individually. Once outside, each flue rises to a high level supported by a 16M support structure.
The installation was completed in a phased manner in order to maintain heat within the school.
The project was completed in full in February 2021. All chimney and flue products were supplied and installed CE Marked and compliant with European and regional standards.
