Result

John J Doyle Ltd was tasked by Michael Nugent Ltd to design, supply and install a flue system for five new biomass pellet fed boilers at Linen Mill Studios in Banbridge, Northern Ireland.

With a few onsite meeting and discussions with consultants and the design team, it was discovered that the common flue header system would be tight for space on the original diameters calculated. John J Doyle Ltd was able to eliminate two bends and installing specially manufactured tees with a deflection unit to reduce the diameter of the flue common headers.

Due to the height of the boilers and plantroom, the design required that the flue systems be split into 1 no. common flue to feed 3 boilers and 1 no. common flue to feed the remaining 2 boilers. Both flue system required cleaning access for annual inspections and cleaning.

The flue was installed in two phases. First the internal system was completed and then the external system was complete once the roofing contractor was onsite to prevent any roof openings exposed for any length of time.

All chimney and flue products were supplied and installed CE Marked and compliant with European and regional standards.
